    Description:

     In existence since 1998 and IRS recognized since 2003 November, has been running music studios in Missoula County, MT with the mission of inclusion of more and more people with disabilities especially children and youth in the cultural life of the community. They provide music lessons to 148 people on a weekly basis and organize two monthly programs named Spontaneous Music by Children and Magic of Music by Seniors--aiming at inclusion of children and seniors with disabilities. They teach cello, violin, harmonica, guitar, voice, piano, hand drums and ethnic instruments. Twelve music instructors work part time in the program and the studios are situated in areas schools both public and private, churches, and a private home.

    The Center for the Arts at Little City Foundation provides children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to explore and expand their unique and creative talents, promoting a sense of accomplishment and empowerment through the arts.     Description: The California Readings/Workshops Program provides direct support to writers by helping sponsoring organizations match writers' fees. P&W will match between $50 and $300 in fee money; applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and must be received eight weeks in advance of an event. In the past year, over 700 writers were been funded.

    Description: Culture! Disability! Talent! mission is to eliminate negative media images of people with disabilities by promoting and supporting performers, artists, and media makers with disabilities. Some of CDT's activities include: showcasing members' work at BI-monthly membership meetings, producing a quarterly newsletter, and producing an annual, international media festival of works by and/or about people with disabilities called Superfest. In addition, they produces a resource guide containing content and contact information from all Superfest entrants.

    Description: MAO North provides a casting liaison service representing over 150 performers with disabilities in the Northern California area, script consultation on disability issues, and educational opportunities and career development for members. As MAO North is a program of the state's Employment Development Department, there are no membership dues or fees for any services (the main MAO Office, for those in the LA area, is located in Glendale, and is listed separately).

    Description: The International Association of Deaf Media Professionals (IADMP) is an international organization that includes media professionals who are deaf and hard of hearing and involved in broadcast/cable television, motion picture film, Internet- based video, home video, and other related media technologies. Hearing media professionals are encouraged to join as associate members. Association will release a quarterly newsletter featuring guest columnists from the national and international deaf media community. Annual membership is $10. Associate memberships for hearing media professionals are $10, and lifetime memberships for $100 are also available.

    Description: The National Organization for the American Theatre.     Description: VSA arts is an International organization that creates learning opportunities through the arts for people with disabilities. The organization offers arts-based programs in creative writing, dance, drama, music and the visual arts implemented primarily through there vast affiliated network in 39 states and the District of Columbia, collaborators in 10 states, and 70 international affiliates in 67 countries. VSA arts' programs now serve 4.3 million Americans and 1.3 million people in other parts of the world.
