The following is a list of organizations that host film festivals for and about persons with disabilities. Abilities Arts Festival showcases artistic excellence by artists with disabilities. Dynamic and powerful artistic presentations are used to entertain, engage, enlighten, provoke, provide opportunities, and positively impact attitudes. Don't DIS my ABILITY and The Festivalists present Access All Areas (AAA) Film Festival Fully Accessible Travelling Film Festival. All films will be audio described, open-captioned and wheelchair accessible. Introductions and Q&A sessions will be Auslan interpreted.
Rio de Janeiro's "Assim Vivemos - Brazil 's International Disability Film Festival"
The deaf and hard of hearing have been mostly left out of the movie-going experience. For the past several years;Cinema/Chicago has reached out to these communities by raising awareness of the multitude of high-quality subtitled films at The Chicago International Film Festival. At many Festival screenings, sign-language interpreters are present to facilitate participation by deaf audience members in the post-screening discussions. Texans with Disabilities designed the Cinema Touching Disability film festival to improve perceptions and dispel
common misperceptions that many people hold about disability. The powerful role that cinema plays in American culture makes a film
festival ideal for this purpose. Movies, after all, reflect and shape the attitudes that people have about important social issues,
including disability. Each year we show and discuss films that illustrate how well, and how poorly, people with disabilities are
portrayed in motion pictures. Showcases disability films as part of the Borderlines Film Festival
The Museum of disABILITY History and People Inc. host the Annual disABILITIES Film Festival and Speaker Series. The goal is to provide entertainment and information while exploring issues faced by individuals with disabilities.
FOCUS Film Festival explores documentary and feature films which explore the complexity of the human experience: disability, relationships, aging, culture, lifestyle and more. Our mission is to inspire self-advocacy, demonstrate possibilities, present positive role models, and heighten disability awareness within our community. For the past six years, disability rights NGO Perspektiva has been holding an International Disability Film Festival called "Breaking Down Barriers". The festival is a series of life-affirming films which illustrate the diversity and unlimited potential of people with disabilities worldwide.

Picture this...Canada's first international disability film festival will take place in February 12-16 2007. Sprout's Make-A-Movie Program offers people
with developmental disabilities the opportunity to star in and be part of the production process of creative video making. Producing
videos since 1994, Sprout's Make-A-Movie program is an exciting way for participants to explore their creative side. Participants'
videos have been shown at several festivals and at public screenings throughout the United States. SUPERFEST International Media Festival takes place once a year and is given by the Corporation on Disability and
Telecommunication. The film festival exhibits works by both amateurs and professionals. These films and videotapes have offered a
forum for the examination of ideas, myths, fears and attitudes about people with disabilities. To review this years winners go to

world to a Melbourne audience. The festival screens exciting work by established and emerging filmmakers. Festival screens August 25-27,
