The following resource directory contains a listing of online magazines that publish material on disability culture, advocacy, the arts, disability history, entertainment, and disability studies. The online magazines are aimed for the disability community, academicians, and/or the general public. The list of resources is provided for information purposes only and does not denote an endorsement by the National Arts and Disability Center.
  1. Abilities Magazine (http://www.abilities.ca/ )
    Canada's foremost cross-disability lifestyle magazine. It is widely read by people with disabilities, their families, friends and professionals. The publication is available in print, on audio cassette and on computer disk.

    Ability Magazine aims for a general readership by educating and informing readers about disability.

    Disability Online Magazine (DAO) is an online magazine supported by the Arts Council England which seeks to promote disabled and deaf artists and to discuss issues around Disability Arts.     New Mobility Magazine focuses on disability and culture.

    Raw Visions Magazine is a magazine about outsider art, the art of the untrained visionary.

    Reach Out Magazine is a meeting place for disabled persons all over the world.

    Spectrum Magazine is a new grassroots alternative magazine displaying a wide spectrum of topics, opinions and abilities of people with disabilities. They emphasize art, entertainment and the local news.
  17. The Braille Monitor (http://www.nfb.org/nfb/Braille_Monitor.asp )
    The Braille Monitor is a publication of the National Federation of the Blind (NFB), covers the events and activities of the NFB and serves as a vehicle for advocacy and protection of civil rights, addresses social concerns affecting the blind and discusses issues related to employment, education, legislation, and rehabilitation.

    The Electric Edge is the web edition of Ragged Edge magazine which contains articles and poetry related to the disability experience in America.
  19. The Ragged Edge (http://www.ragged-edge-mag.com )
    The Ragged Edge covers political, social, and cultural issues related to disability rights and experience. Contains back copies of the Disability Rag and current online issues of Electric Edge.
