    Description: CLIMB Theatre was founded in 1975 by Peg Wetli to give persons with disabilities access to theatre arts. CLIMB's purpose was to create unique theatrical experiences that allowed persons with even very severe mental and physical disabilities to use their imaginations, exercise their creativity, and become involved in plays, characters and improvisation. The result of creating theatre for very specific and atypical audiences was the development of a very specific artistic process which we call Instructive Theatre. Since that time, they have evolved from a theatre company for persons with disabilities to a theatre company that uses drama techniques to teach life skills to all children. CLIMB is a "theatre on wheels". Their plays and classes focus on socially important issues such as violence prevention, substance abuse prevention, sexual harassment, conflict resolution, resiliency, gender differences, diversity, ecology and more.

    Description: Conejo Theatre for Everyone is a theatre company comprised of actors with and without disabilities, in collaboration with the award winning Young Artist's Ensemble.     Description: The Guthrie Theater performs classic plays in rotating repertory with a resident acting company. The Guthrie Theater is wheelchair accessible and offers American Sign Language interpretation, assistive listening system, audio description, Braille and large print programs magazines and brochures, and 2.8X magnification sport glasses. The theater has trained audio describers and supplies smaller arts organizations with the technology needed to provide audio description to visually impaired patrons.

    Description: Imagination Stage produces theatre and arts education programs which nurture, challenge, and empower young people of all abilities. Their season of professional shows for families and year round classes and outreach programs are informed by a by their mission to make the arts inclusive and accessible to all students, staff, patrons, professional artists and visitors. Within the Access program, Imagination Stage staff members work with students and their caregivers to identify and provide the most successful scenario for each student – whether in a general classroom setting with reasonable and appropriate supports or in a specialized Access class.     Description: Founded in 1987, the Moomstheatre is since 2005 transformed into an integrated theatre based on fully professional actors with intellectual disabilities.     Description: Founded in 1948, this company has performed over 2000 performances, typically 60 performances a year. They have numerous domestic and foreign pieces in their repertoire and overall prefer to do comedies. They describe themselves as an amateur group of performers however use well known Directors to guide their theatrical group. "New Life" - is part of the "Croatian Association of the Blind People" holds its own professional theatre room - which also proves its long acting tradition.

    Description: Wild Swan Theater produces professional theater for families and young people of the highest artistic quality and makes theater accessible to low income, minority, and disabled children through low ticket prices and innovative outreach programs. Since its inception, the company has performed for over 1,000,000 children throughout Michigan in performances at theatres, museums, and public libraries, and in performances, residencies, and workshops at schools and hospitals. All productions are performed in American Sign Language as well as spoken English. Audience members who are blind are invited backstage before performances to feel specially constructed puppets, masks, and props that provide key information through touch that other audience members receive through sight. Performances of all productions are also audio described for patrons who are blind.
